Coupon Chief - My Site Review

When I started my blog, I would never have imagined that a website would approach ME about writing a review for their site. Well, they did, and I accepted!  This is a site I was not familiar with nor had ever been to before which really helps in giving an honest, unbiased review of my experiences on their site.

Coupon Chief is a site for online shoppers to find “coupons” or codes to get discounts from all kinds of online stores when they check out.  I think of it as the digital equivalent of the websites where you can find and print coupons to use at stores when you shop in person. The nice thing, in this case, is that I don’t have to use any paper or ink to use the coupon!

The first thing I always do when I go to a website for the first time is check out the About page.  While this page did not tell me anything about the people behind Coupon Chief, it did tell me about the reason it was created.  The very first reason “Get coupons that work” is definitely one of my biggest complaints about other sites of this type; most of the codes I have tried to use were no longer valid and a waste of time. According to Coupon Chief, “Once a coupon expires, it gets removed from the site so you only see what’s absolutely valid.”  I like that idea!

The next thing I looked for was directions on how to use the site and I liked what I found – a video!  People learn in all kinds of different ways so I was thrilled to see that they have a video for those of us who are visual learners!  It really does seem quite simple after watching the video!

Three things that jumped out at me right away are:

1.  The site is absolutely free to join.  I didn’t have to enter a credit card; I didn’t have to validate an email.  I could sign up and start saving immediately.  You don’t need an account to use the codes or browse the site.  The advantage of joining and establishing an account are that you can set up email alerts for  your favorite stores; you must have an account to earn money (more on that shortly) and you can get a widget or button to paste on your own website.

2. Coupons-4-Causes!  “With Coupons-4-Causes, you can help support your favorite cause every time you shop. Just use our coupons for your online shopping, and we’ll donate up to 20% of the purchase to your favorite charity, school or church.”  What a great way to increase charitable giving!

According to their FAQ if you don’t see a cause already in their database, all you have to do is email them and they will not only add it but they will also give $25 to that cause right off the bat!  The only thing I was not able to figure out from reading the information on Coupons-4-Causes is whether or not you must have an account to participate.  I would assume you do because how else will they know who you are but it does not specifically say so.

3.  Pays-2-Share is a great way for you to earn some money simply by uploading coupons to Coupon Chief!  When you enroll in the Pays-2-Share program (free of course) you will earn 2% of the purchase price every time someone uses the coupon you uploaded!  It even gives you some directions on how to find coupon codes!  You can also get paid when YOU use your own codes!  There is a monthly cap of $25 earnings per store.

Coupon Chief’s stats are impressive. They are one of the fastest growing coupon sites, with over 250k visitors/month.  They have over 50k coupons for over 15000 stores, which gives them one of the largest databases of online coupons on the net.  Overall I was very impressed with Coupon Chief and do plan on using them from this point forward and I encourage you to head over and check them out for yourself.
