Last night around 8 pm the small community of West, Texas just north of Waco was devastated by an explosion at a local fertilizer plant. There were many casualties and injuries but precise numbers have not been released as rescue/recovery efforts are on going.
If you would like to help that community and the rescue workers, here are some links for you.
Operation Fill That Truck has a list of items needed and locations of drop off points as well as a phone number you can call about donating blood.
My Fox Austin has a list and links for the Red Cross of Central Texas, Capital Area Food Bank, Housing Assistance and places you can donate money to in and around Waco.
KTRH Links and information for those around the Houston area to help.
KEye TV provides a long list of links where you can help out.
The one thing we can all do is pray for this small community. If you have ever traveled from Dallas or Fort Worth to Austin or San Antonio then you have gone through West. One of the things West is known for is the delicious kolaches at the Czech Stop. I have no doubt they will recover and be stronger than ever!
